This is a mathematical power rating based on the a study of 5000 races and the various variables that produce winners. This is my form of a power rating and it is remarkably strong for picking the winner in the first two selections. Combined with the other picks, it can be used to aid in your handicapping. I have noticed that the race that has a spread of 7-8 points is better than only a few points separating the selections. Many longshot selections come from the first two picks. I have also used this for betting trifectas,using the first four selections and have been successful in obtaining some boxcar payoffs.
Note: When horses scratch, just ignore that horse and the other horses slide up the list.
Unfortunately, because of a lack of statistics, first time starters and foreign shippers cannot be rated.
